Valerie Carrigan

Valerie Carrigan received her MFA in Printmaking/Book Arts from The University of the Arts, and her M.ED from Western Washington University. In her role as Assistant Professor of Studio Art at Bryant University, Carrigan teaches courses in Arts and Creative Industries, Drawing, Painting, Art and Design, Book Arts, and the ACI capstone - Creativity and Research Portfolio Workshop. She is also the Program Coordinator for the Arts and Creative Industries major/minor. When not teaching, she works out of her studio in a historic mill in western Massachusetts where she produces drawings, paintings, prints and artist books exploring the intersection of the natural world and the human spirit. She has exhibited at the International CODEX Book Arts Fair and Symposium, San Francisco Public Library, Boston Athenaeum, Minnesota Center for the Book, and The Clark Art Institute Artist Book Fair, among others. Her artist books are held in special collections across the United States with recent acquisitions by Colorado State University, Washington University at St. Louis, and University of California, Berkeley.
